Reflecting on Note taking- Task 27

Note Taking Fast Write-

I have been taking notes since as long I can remember; in fact I swear by them. I find them extremely helpful when it comes to school work and my personal to do lists. When following lectures I find it important to write down as much as possible while everything is fresh in my memory. I am constantly adding my thoughts, ideas, and examples to most of my notes. My most preferred method to note taking. Having notes on hand to refer back on is very useful when needing to complete or remember anything. When it comes to note taking on school assignments, it can be easy to grow disorganized and overwhelmed with all of my notes if I do not stay organized along the way. There have been some assignments in the past where my little note taking left me frazzled last minute. I chose to learn the hard way and found it to be a whole lot easier to take the time and jot down the main ideas accurately as possible. Most definitely worth the time in the long run. Regardless they don’t hurt too bad to take, and in the end anyone will pleased they did. Notes are just short key points of a larger body of work. Days after you can go look back over your notes and refresh your mind on whatever it may be. Taking notes efficiently helps keep myself together. Organization is key.

I have chosen to do the twelve minute fast write:

So at the Coffee Shop I just can’t get recycling off my brain, when I run into my friend I must tell her how exciting it's been while researching my own chosen topic for my final English essay. I choose to put my efforts into researching Recycling and the true effects it has on the Environment. People who chose to recycle and those who do not, what the impact of recycling really has on our earth. I didn't have to dig too deep to find so much shocking information about a topic I have true passion for. This fact I found through one of my sources had me thinking and thinking...If we recycled the 50 billion aluminum cans that we dumped in landfills last year, we could have saved the energy equivalent of 15 million barrels of crude oil. A can for example made with recycled aluminum requires 95 percent less energy than one made entirely from virgin materials. My personal mission for this essay is to just let people know we will all pay the consequences one day if fast action is not to be taken now. Not recycling is no longer the question. Educating knowledgeable and useful ways that each of us can make a difference. I hope to one day see that recycling in all states will be a law. No excuses, little things like turning a light off when your not in the room, or shutting the water off while brushing your teeth are just some of the simplest ways to be proactive in preserving our earth. Now that I got that out; how are you?

What I Already Know:

-Purchasing recycled products makes the recycling process a success.
-There are four primary recycling methods: curbside, drop-off centers, buy-back centers, and deposit\refund programs.
-There are several steps to complete the recycling process.
-Recycling materials mainly include glass, paper, plastics, metal, textiles and electronics.
- The three "R" concepts are reduce, reuse, and recycle.
-Recycling is proven to reduce waste.

-What is the exact percentage of our population which does not participate in recycling?
-What materials take the longest to break down in a landfill.
-How many times can a plastic bag be recycled
-Which is easier to break down, plastic or paper?
-Why recycling is not a law in all states?
-Why people are so inconsiderate to litter so freely?
-Whats the last thing you recycled?
-How harmful are the materials we use everyday?
-Are you going to power down tonight at 9 for 60 seconds?
-How many people do you know that recycle?
-Do you feel guilty when you throw away an item that you could have easily recycled? (you should)
-Do you believe in renewable energy?

Evening Everbody,

My topic I'm sure to choose is Why people need to Recycle. Plain and simple. This topic is of great interest and importance to me, and should be to everyone else as well. I notice tons of people who fail to think twice about their harmful disposals, and the devastating effects it has on our earth. Prehaps if people were a little more educated on the subject, they would be more inclined to recycle. Through my Working Knowledge Search i found many great websites through Google. I also came across helpful info in Wikipedia and Encyclopedia. I found simple and effective ways that how everyone can do their part. *If all U.S. households installed water-efficient appliances, the country would save more than 3 trillion gallons of water and more than $18 billion dollars per year! *All plastics require at least 100 to 400 years to break down in a landfill. My understanding of this topic is deepening, with the more research i do.
